ঢাকা, ৪ মার্চ, ২০২৫ (বাসস) : চব্বিশ বছর বয়সী কওমি মাদ্রাসা শিক্ষক মাওলানা মোহাম্মদ খুবাইব ২০২৪ সালের ৫ আগস্ট দেশে প্রায় ১৬ বছরের ফ্যাসিবাদী শাসনের পতনের পর রাজধানীর যাত্রাবাড়ী এলাকায় বিজয় মিছিলে যোগ দিয়ে শহীদ হন। ছাত্র-জনতার অভ্যুত্থানের মুখে শেখ হাসিনার পতনের পর বিজয় মিছিলে তার অংশগ্রহণ একটি মর্মান্তিক ট্র্যাজেডিতে পরিণত হয়। যাত্রাবাড়ী থানার পেছনে ডেমরা রোডে গুলি করে হত্যা করা হয় তাকে। পরিবারের এক সদস্য জানান, বৈষম্যবিরোধী আন্দোলন শুরু হওয়ার পর থেকেই খুবাইব রাস্তায় প্রতিবাদ-বিক্ষোভে যোগ দিতেন। ৫ আগস্টের আগেও তিনি একবার গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু রাজপথ ছাড়েননি। খুবাইবের চতুর্থ বোনের স্বামী জুনায়েদ হোসেন বাসসকে বলেন, ‘আমি তাকে রাস্তায় প্রতিবাদ-বিক্ষোভে যোগ দিতে নিরুৎসাহিত করতাম। কারণ তখন পুলিশ ও অন্যান্য আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থার সদস্যরা আন্দোলনকারীদের লক্ষ্য করে নির্বিচারে গুলি চালাচ্ছিল... কিন্তু তিনি আমার কথা শুনতেন না।’ যাত্রাবাড়ীর কাজলারপাড় জামেয়া ইসলামিয়া ইব্রাহিমিয়া ইশাকিয়ার শিক্ষক জুনায়েদ বলেন, খুবাইব একই মাদ্রাসা থেকে শিক্ষা সম্পন্ন করে সম্প্রতি শিক্ষক হিসেবে যোগ দিয়েছিলেন। একটি ধর্মপ্রাণ পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণকারী খুবাইব ছিলেন তার ১১ ভাইবোনের মধ্যে নবম, যার মধ্যে ছয়জন বোন। তার বাবা মাওলানা আব্দুর রহমান (৭০) ছিলেন একটি মাদ্রাসার প্রধান (মুহতামিম)। আর তার মা আবিদা খাতুন (৬০) একজন গৃহিণী। পাঁচ ভাইয়ের মধ্যে খুবাইবসহ চারজন মাদ্রাসা শিক্ষক। বড় ভাই মাসুদুর রহমান ব্যবসায়ী। এই পরিবার দীর্ঘদিন ধরে নারায়ণগঞ্জের রূপগঞ্জের কাজলারপাড় এলাকায় বসবাস করছে। খুবাইবের পরিবার তার নাম রেখেছিল হযরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.)-এর সম্মানিত সাহাবী খুবাইব বিন আদিয়া আনসারী (রা.)-এর নামে, যিনি তার অটল বিশ্বাসের জন্য শাহাদাত বরণ করেন। জুনায়েদ স্মরণ করেন, ‘খুবাইব তার নাম মাহাত্ম্যে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে প্রায়ই শাহাদাত বরণের ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করতেন। তিনি বলেন, খুবাইব তার বক্তৃতা এবং দৈনন্দিন কথাবার্তায় শাহাদাতের ধারণাকে মহিমান্বিত করতেন।

Dhaka, 4 March 2025 (BSS) : Twenty-four-year-old Qawmi madrasa teacher Maulana Mohammad Kubayb was martyred after joining a victory procession in the Jatrabari area of the capital on August 5, 2024, following the fall of nearly 16 years of fascist rule in the country. His participation in the victory procession after the fall of Sheikh Hasina in the face of the student uprising resulted in a tragic tragedy. He was shot dead on Demra Road behind Jatrabari Police Station. A family member said that Kubayb had been joining street protests since the start of the anti-discrimination movement. He was shot once before August 5, but did not leave the street. Junayed Hossain, the husband of Kubayb's fourth sister, told BSS, 'I discouraged him from joining street protests. Because at that time, police and other law enforcement members were indiscriminately firing on protesters... but he didn't listen to me.' Junayed, a teacher at Kazlarpar Jamia Islamia Ibrahimiya Ishakiya in Jatrabari, said Kubayb completed his studies from the same madrasa and recently joined as a teacher. Born into a devout family, Kubayb was the ninth of 11 siblings, including six sisters. His father, Maulana Abdul Rahman (70), was the head of a madrasa (muhtamim), and his mother, Abida Khatun (60), was a housewife. Among the five brothers, Kubayb and three others were madrasa teachers. The eldest brother, Masudur Rahman, was a businessman. This family has been living in the Kazlarpar area of Rupganj in Narayanganj for a long time. Kubayb's family named him after Hazrat Muhammad (SA)'s honored companion Khubayb bin Adi Ansari (RA), who was martyred for his unwavering faith. Junayed recalled, 'Khubayb was inspired by the significance of his name and often expressed his desire to be martyred. He glorified the concept of martyrdom in his speeches and everyday conversations.'
Cause
He was martyred in police firing on the spot of Jatrabari Big Madrasa.
